A thank you to our fearless Captain
Bye from me
Wish I had been able to stay longer -- especially for Las Perlas. Anyway, no can do. Back in LA now.
I got together yesterday together with Jim and his family last night and we went to the Galaxies game (last this season for them...). We agreed that one of the best parts of our journey on the Renaissance was getting to know the other crew members. We have all become good friends and will certainly get together again.
The pictures I posted so far are a very small selection hurredly uploaded. I took more than 2000 in all. Now that I am home I can go through and filter these out a bit and will burn CDs to share with the other crew members.
Hope someone else can take pictures along the way and post to this blog whenever internet access can be found. Anyway, with Steve on board we can at least track the position.

Islas Perlas

Well, looks like the Renaissance was able to get out of Panama City and make its way to Pearl Islands. This must mean the mechanic had the part needed for the Generator. Also looks like Steve is on board since the spot messenger goes with him.

Back in the salt.
As we leave the last chamber of Miraflores Locks we once again enter salt water. Channel markers change from Red on the right to Green on the right, leading us out to the Pacific ocean. From Atlantic to Pacific in less than 24 hours. Next stop is just around the point at Flamenco Yacht Club Panama City. We will be saying goodbye to Jim, Derek, Mike and I (David) and hello to Ali. Captain Philippe, Diane, Ritzy, Brian and Steve will be will be joined by two new crew members before continuing on to Islas Perlas as soon as the 24amp genertor is repaired.
